Elaea Purmalietis awarded the 2025 CATSS Summer Fellowship in Translational and Sensory Sciences
CATSS is pleased to announce that Elaea Purmalietis is the recipient of the first ever CATSS Summer Fellowship in Translational Sensory Sciences. This annual fellowship is open to full-time undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Minnesota who are conducting research with a focus in the area of sensory science at CATSS. There were a number of competitive applications from UMN students, and Elaea’s project, “Exploring the perceptual consequences and translational applications of low-frequency hearing loss,” was chosen for the fellowship by our evaluation committee. Elaea’s project will focus on low-frequency sensorineural hearing loss (LFHL) in order to advance both theoretical knowledge and clinical applications related to this type of hearing loss.
Congratulations to Elaea!
