CATSS Summer Fellowship in Translational Sensory Science

The Center for Applied and Translational Sensory Science (CATSS) is pleased to announce its first Summer Fellowship in Translational Sensory Science. Students are eligible to be considered for this award if they are: a) attending the University of Minnesota Twin Cities; b) enrolled full-time; c) undergraduate or graduate degree seeking students; d) conducting (or planning to conduct) research with a focus in the area of sensory science at the Center for Applied and Translational Sensory Science (CATSS). Preference will be given to students with a sensory or other disabilities who are registered with the Disability Resource Center.
The value of the fellowship is $5500. Students may not combine this fellowship with a paid Research or Teaching Assistantship during the summer.
 
The successful candidate is expected to devote 20 hr/week to the project throughout the summer, in consultation with their research mentor. A research report of no more than 5-10 pages should be submitted by the end of period to the CATSS office. Candidates are encouraged to work with their mentor to seek opportunities to present their work at a local or national research conference.

- Current (unofficial) transcript
- Personal and research statement (no more than 2 pages). This statement should include a brief description of your background and motivation for applying for the fellowship (1-2 paragraphs), and a brief (1-2 paragraphs) statement of planned research. The research can involve a new project or ongoing research, but must be mentored by a faculty member affiliated with CATSS.
2) Arrange for a CATSS faculty member to submit a separate brief email to [email protected], confirming that they are willing to mentor you over the summer period.

Application deadline is: April 7, 2025. The successful candidate will be notified by April 21, 2025. The fellowship is designed to provide a stipend for the summer period (5/26 - 08/24, 2025). Informal inquiries can be sent to Rachel Gage at [email protected]
